Rimi Nayak takes you straight into her travel map with her Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2015 Collection

Reminiscent of the places visited, travel plans and memorable souvenirs, this year's Rimi Nayak collection for the Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2015 is sure to leave a lasting impression.

A vibrant combination of bold colours and geometric shapes combine to create this lovely collection that is synonymous with travel maps. Inspired by cartographic art of the modern era this collection takes you on a road of travel and discovery. Cartography, the art of making maps, is an age-old technique which is represented in the collection graphically and through a plethora of interwoven webs of intricate surface-embellishment techniques, forming the thematic base.

The designs are created in sync with her signature Bengali typeface to develop graphical artwork. Various hand-crafted techniques like cutwork, thread-texturing and hand-embroidery can be seen in this artistic collection.
The shades of blue and green predominantly feature in the collection along with highlights of bright vibrant colours.

Rimi Nayak is ready to take you on colourful journey of travel and its tales. A beautiful array of Long resort-wear dresses, draped jackets, summer tunics, trousers and tops along with flared gowns form the heart of the silhouette. The subtle design and graphic detailing adds an understated elegance to the fluid character of the outfits.

You can spot the use of fine fabrics like georgette, crepe, handloom cotton and satin. Rimi Nayak brings an interesting and innovative collection for the 7th season this year. She says, "It's good to be back! The past few days have been crazy and I am eagerly awaiting to reveal my collection. I've been travelling quite a lot in the past few months and that is how the collection 'Trail Tales' was born.  I'm pretty excited to showcase my designs for the 7th LFW season."
